Ifigeneia Douvitsa holds a PhD in cooperative law from the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace. She has taught public policies and law of social and solidarity economy at the Hellenic Open University (MA in Social and Solidarity Economy). She is a founding member and editorial board member of the International Journal of Cooperative Law. She has served as European regional researcher for Cooperatives Europe and as European representative on the ICA Cooperative Law Committee. She is also affiliated with kalomathe.gr, UnivSSE Coop, and P2P Lab. Her research focuses on legal and policy aspects of the social economy.
